"I Declare"
Founding Fathers Sound off on Contemporary Issues
Welcome,
You have been studying the times before the Revolution, the Declaration of Independence and its role in the success of the American Revolution, and creating a foundation for the American Dream. The men who wrote and signed the Declaration, whom we often call our "Founding Fathers" were frustrated...
You may think that the signers of the Declaration of Independence agreed on all of its contents. Just like today's politicians in Washington, the Founding Fathers and they people they represented (13 colonies) had a variety of opinions and viewpoints. They fought over certain issues like slavery and states rights. The Founding Fathers were not much different from you! As students here at KIPP oyu are required to revise and edit your work to perfection. The Fathers revised the Declaration many times before it became what we know it to be today.
I thought it would be interesting to research the Founding Fathers and make connections between their political views and the current events that are happening today!
